COGNITIVE ACTIVIST, INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER, INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER

Jinan has spent 40 years living with learning communities of artisans and is relentless in his search for the process that enables knowledge creation.

He believes that the modern educational paradigm is based on ‘how to teach’ and not on ‘how we naturally learn’.

He has researched and systematically documented children’s spontaneous activities to decode how children simplify the complex world they experience in order to make sense of it. With over 4000 videos and images of various activities that children undertake, he convincingly presents proof.

Jinan has also been concerned with the homogenization and westernization of aesthetic sensibilities. He has dedicated 20 years to studying how aesthetic sensibilities are formed in traditional cultures and how modern education distorts these sensibilities. This led him to initiate a conference series to address the fragmented aesthetic sensibilities in modern people. His concern is that cultural diversity will soon be extinct if we don’t explore various aspects of the formation of aesthetic sense in humans and the fundamental role of beauty in life.

Existential knowledge foundation has been set up to understand why learning is central to life, what knowledge is required to sustain life and how human beings learn naturally.

The foundation has been set up naturally in response to dealing with the various damages that modern schooling has been inflicting on almost all aspects of life including the very process of learning.

The Initiative has been holding dialogues, retreats, workshops to create awareness about the true nature of learning, the need for authenticity and originality, need for creating conducive environment for the real development of children.

EKF has been set up to understand why learning is central to life, what knowledge is required to sustain life and how human beings learn naturally.

The foundation has been set up in response to dealing with the various damages that modern schooling has been inflicting on almost all aspects of life including the very process of learning.

Eleven years ago, I entered motherhood with the same curious, rebellious spirit I'd had since childhood— eagerly questioning the status quo in search of something deeper. Since then, I've been writing and sharing on all things natural parenting, health and living.

My Experience with Jinan's Work

In 2023, a woman saw me mention The Continuum Concept (the book by Jean Liedloff) in one of my online groups. She reached out and invited me to join a workshop and a WhatsApp group centered around something called "Indigenous Parenting". It was an immediate yes for me and within a few days I had taken a deep dive into the work of Jinan KB.

Needless to say, it changed my life. I met and formed friendships with some amazing mothers (who are helping me host this event!), and his work brought me closer to the heart of what I didn't know I was searching for— trust in life, my children and myself. I have not found anyone alive today speaking on childhood, learning and being human in the way that Jinan does. He has a truly unique, valuable perspective.
